Zoning Certificates are required when:
a. Buildings or Structures are constructed, erected, reconstructed, structurally altered, razed or removed.
b. Erecting a fence, carport, garage or other accessory structures.
c. Use of Land or Structure is established or changed.
d. When a building permit is required.
e. Conditional Use or Use by Special Exception is granted by council or Zoning Hearing Board.
f. Other requirements as listed in Zoning Ordinance #206
New Home construction or Enlargement of Existing Dwelling
Garages or Carports
Storage Structures or Sheds
Decks or Porches more than 24 square feet
Swimming Pools (in-ground or above ground when more than 24″ deep)
To apply for Zoning Certificate or Hearing Board Request download application and mail completed application to the Borough Secretary with applicable fee listed on the Fee Schedule.

Cokeburg Borough has “Opted Out” of inspection and enforcement of the State of Pa building code. Permits & Inspections of Residential buildings are done with 3rd party agencies hired by the property owner. Commercial building permits & inspections are done the Dept of Labor & Industry.
